About the event

As your athlete grows older, they may be asked to participate in high school and middle school weight training programs.

As a parent, it's important to equip your child with the necessary tools to ensure their safety during these programs.

Contrary to popular belief, studies show that young athletes can benefit greatly from weight training. In fact, it's essential for their strength, their health, and their overall athletic development.

This camp is a two hour "Teaching Workout" that will provide your child with the basic knowledge of common lifts that are frequently used in high school and middle school weight-rooms. By the end of the camp, your child will be well-prepared and confident in their ability to safely participate in weight training programs.

Athletes Will Learn:

  • Weight room safety
  • Weight room etiquette
  • How to warmup to optimize performance and prevent injuries
  • Proper and safe technique for main lifts (Bench Press, Squat Variations, Deadlift Variations)
  • Intro to the Olympic Lifts (Clean Variations, Snatch Variations, Jerk Variations)
  • How to train Plyometrics safely and effectively
  • How to optimize Speed Training vs. Conditioning

For Grades 5th - 9th
